Test Drive Unlimited 2 Review
Test Drive Unlimited 2 has many expectations to live up to and an active fan base as well. The question is, does it? Well, Test Drive Unlimited 2 excels in some areas and fails miserably in others. However, do its faults completely ruin the overall in-game experience? The answer is no. If you want to find out how Test Drive Unlimited 2 Does a good job of being the kind of game it set out to be, please continue reading this Test Drive Unlimited 2 Review.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 features a potent list of nearly 200 sports cars, hot hatchbacks, supercars, exotic cars, hypercars and SUVs. View the full Test Drive Unlimited 2 Car List by clicking here! There are many different brands featured as well.
Players will be able to get behind the wheel of everything from Ferraris to Range Rovers to Bugattis. While the game features a robust car list the absence of Lamborghini is a disappointment. Another complaint from players is the absence of the Ferrari 458 Italia on the Xbox 360 version of Test Drive Unlimited 2.
One of the main reasons why players will be drawn to Test Drive Unlimited 2 is because of it robust multiplayer features. The most important feature of the game is the ability to free roam with friends across the islands of Ibiza and Oahu. Oahu is unlocked once the player reaches level 10. Players of the first Test Drive Unlimited will remember many of the roads and landmarks on the island of Oahu.
There are many different houses for players to choose from on both islands. They range greatly in price, size and garage capacity. However, we highly recommend purchasing large houses because your garage will fill up quickly. Trust us. The houses are well done in a graphical sense and some feature interior water features.
An addition to the franchise is the ability to walk around in your home by yourself or with an online friend. This is an enjoyable feature and adds an interesting social aspect to the game. However, the online features don’t always work properly.
In fact, Test Drive Unlimited 2’s severs are often plagued by lag and constant disconnection. The developers have tried to fix these problems multiple times. However (while they have made some progress) their efforts have not been very effective. One of the most noticeable improvements to the servers is that online club features are now active. When the game was launched players could not access club servers at all. Now (after a few updates) player can fully access clubs and interact with other clubs.
Over all Test Drive Unlimited 2 is a great idea but falls short of being a complete package. We like this franchise and hope that it will continue in the future with the elimination of sever problems, hackers and other issues that have plagued this game since its launch. The final score is a 7.5 out of 10.
